!P: Anna Mae Van Petten, 88, Topeka, died Thursday, Dec. 2, 1993, at a Topeka retirement home.

!P: Mrs. Van Petten operated an antique business for 35 years, 24 of those years were on her farm on US-56 near Overbrook.

!P: She was born Aug. 8, 1905, in Burlingame, the daughter of Joseph and Harriet Buttler Foster, and grew up in Burlingame. After she was married, she had lived in Eudora, Topeka, and Dalhart, Texas, before she moved to Overbrook in 1957.

!P: Mrs. Van Petten was a member of the United Methodist Church in Overbrook.

!P: She was married to Franklin Traxler Van Patten Jan. 13, 1926, at Burlingame. He died April 20, 1971. A son, Edwin Alfred Van Petten, died Feb. 1, 1965.

!P: Survivors include two daughters, Josephine Ann Halley, Topeka, and Wilha Lucile Widtfelt, Grenville, N.M.; 14 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

!P: Cremation is planned. Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday in First Congregational Church. Inurnment will be in Burlingame Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Brewster Place Congregational Home Foundation Building Fund, 1205 S.W. 29th, 66611. Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
