!Obituary: The Osage County Chronicle, Thurs, January 20, 2005. - Roy F. Chelf Scottsbluff, Neb, - Roy F. Chelf, 90, Scottsbluff, Neb., died Sun., Jan 2, 2005, at the Residency Health Care Center. His memorial services were Fri., Jan. 7, at the First Christian Church in Scottsbluff. Burial was at Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver, Colo. - He was born Oct. 15, 1914, at Harveyville, the son of Phil and May Chelf. He attended country school and graduate[d] from Harveyville High School. - He was united in marriage to Neva Leeburg on Aug. 13, 1935, in HArveyville. He then began working for the coop in Elmdale and later managed a store in Emporia. - He served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1948, they moved to Scottsbluff, Neb., where they started the Co-op Foodstore, which is now the Co-op Plaza. He managed the store 32 years. He served on the Board of Directors for 15 years, nine of which he was chairman. Roy and his wife, Neva, moved to the Residency in 1992. - Survivors include his wife, Neva; son, Bill Chelf, Aurora, Colo.; two grandsons; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lelia Johnson, Osage City, and Nelma Groves, Topeka; and a brother, Kenneth Chelf, Omaha, Neb.
