His wife was Caroline Eliza Thorpe, who he married on 7 AUG 1823 in England. Their four known children were Samuel Ashton Yate (c1825-1856), Augustus William (c1827-?), Emily Georgiana Elise (c1829-?) and Caroline Louisa Lydia (c1830-?).
