!Notes: John Webb graduated from Osage City High School at the age of 18 in 1940 and began his college studies at the "College of Emporia" before entering the U.S. Army in 1942. After returning home, he completed his A.B. degree in 1948. He went on to earn an M.A. degree from the University of Kansas in 1952 and an education degree from the University of ArKansas in 1962. In 1948, he began his career in education. He was hired as "Assistant Principal" and teacher at "Emporia Senior High School" in 1952. In 1955, he was named principal of the school. Mr. Webb's association with Emporia State University began in 1959. The following year he was named "Dean of Men" for what was known at that time as "Emporia State Teacher's College". Mr. Webb continued his service to "Emporia State University". In 1986 he held the post of "Vice President for Administration Affairs" and had announced his intention to retire at the end of the 1986 Fall semester.
