!Services were Tuesday, Jan. 5, at Crable Funeral Chapel, Osage City, for Alexander Verna, 75, Osage City, who died Saturday, Jan. 2, at a Topeka hospital.

!He was born Nov. 24, 1906, at Osage City, the son of Carlo and Thresa Macari Verna. He had lived the past 11 years in the Osage City community.

!Mr. Verna was a retired scale inspecter for the Atchison, Topeka and Sante Fe Railway. He worked ther 42 years before retiring in June of 1969.

!He was a member of Orient Lodge No. 51, AF&AM, at Topeka.

!He was married to Isabelle Curley, who preceded him in death. His second wife, Loretta Verna, survives.

!Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Shirley A. Klaus, Odessa, Tex.; a son, William K. Verna, Topeka; two sisters, Mrs. Angela Rouvier, Wichita, and Mrs. Diana J. Sprung, Kansas City, Kans.; three brothers, Charles Verna, Salem, Va., John Verna, Osage City; five grandaughters; and one great-granddaughter.
