the hall and demesne lands of Becconsall
were given to his third son Richard ;
Add. MS. 32104, no. 1. Richard after-
wards suffered as a traitor, but in 1628
one Nicholas Hesketh, a convicted recu-
sant, was the only landowner in the
township contributing to the subsidy ;
