Counterpart of lease, indented, from John Clopton master, John Hannys, Roger Pagette, John Gilberte, John Wager, John Brightwelle, Thomas Walker, Richard Walker and Reginald Flecher, aldermen, and John Tetersale, proctors of the Gild of the Holy Cross etc. of Stratford upon Auen, to John Hoggekyns, of Stratford, 'bocher', Emmote his wife, and John and Roger their sons, of a shop with a chamber built over it in Middelrowe, formerly in the tenure of John Stokes, together with a small 'chere' now built at the end of the said shop: for term of their lives, at an annual rent of 5s. and to keep the buildings in good repair

Note: Stratford guild rentals show the same tenant, John Hoggekyns, continuing in the Henley Street / Middle Row market area between 1466 and 1473. Middle Row was demolished in the 1590s because it blocked traffic through the market. So the place where John Hoggekyns had his butcher shop literally no longer exists — it sat where the open High Street market area is today.
