Notes: 1. "le fokare" should mean the obligated or debtor, but maybe that's the origin of our "French" swearword?
2. Writer deliberately mixed Latin, English and French.
3. Walter’s insistance on being of York Minster, even though he lived in Gloucestershire may have meant that his father learned to be a butcher there while Walter was growing up, or that he
himself went there for training when he was young.
People included:
Walter - testator
Cathrine - my mader <<<<
William - filio, executer
Thomas - filio
Elizabeth - filia, William to be guardian.
Roberto - filio. Debt noted, "owes". Judgment assigned to William, executor.
Edward - filio. Entry. Probably means already received his inheritance.
Johanne - filia. Warder William.
Margarett - filia. Warder William.
Margaret - uxori, executrix.
Johe Cole - named guardians.
Thoma Hoginys - named guardians.
