John was born about 1910 in Scotland, the son of Cornelius Cowan and Elizabeth Taylor Wilson.
His wife was Kavin Stielow, who he married in ABT 1931. The place has not been found. Their two known children were Katarina (c1932-?) and Peter (c1934-?).
