Biography
The Mainwaring of Ightfield pedigree in the Visitation of Shropshire noted John Warren as the son of Gruffith Warren and Margareta Corbett. His wife was Matilda Cheney and their children were Gruffith and Margareta.[1]
The Inquisition Post Mortem of John, son and heir of Griffith Wareyn.[2] Writ 8 June 1413. Inquisition. Shrewsbury. 19 June. He held the manor of Ightfield, Shropshire, in his demesne as of fee of the king in chief as an 8th part of a knight’s fee, annual value 10 marks, payable by equal parts at Michaelmas and Lady Day. He died on 4 Feb. last. Griffin his son and heir is aged 13 years and more.
