Thomas HAWKESWELL of the towne and libertie of Faversham "purposyng

towardes the kynges warres"

Soul to god the blessed virgin Mary and the holy company of hevyn. Body

to be buried

To High aulter of the parish church of Faversham iijs iiijd desyryng the

curate to pray for me

To every light within the said churche iiijd

To Alice my wife xxE and a bedd complete of the best

To my Lord Abbot of Faversham to pray for me xxE

To Elyne my doughter x mark to be delivered to her at tyme of her marriage

or she cometh to the age xxiiij if she be not married before. If she dies

without heirs then x marks to remain to my son John

Residue of all goods to be sold to paye dettes and bequeiths and remainder

iij parts to son John and fourth parte for my soule, Elynor my wifes soule

and all christian souls

Executors my Lord Abbot of Faversham and Robert MAYCOTT and to each for

their labour xxvjs viijd

WILL: All my londs and tenement wythyn the towne and libertie of Faversham

and Ospryng. If goods and debts owing to me pay my debts and bequests

then son John at xxiiij years shall have all my said lands and tenements

If not or son John die before age 24 without issue then property to be sold

and money used to pay debts and residue to come to son at age 26 yeres.

If not alive 1/2 residue to my Lord Abbot of Faversham and other half for the

good of my soul. Proviso money to remain in hands of Abbot until son of

age and at the governance of said Abbot
