!Note: Malde’s first cousin once removed, Thomas baptised 26 Oct 1567 in North Nibley, was married in Wantage to Mary Bolter. This would give her another reason to find her way to Wantage in 1575. Of course she also could have had a grand-daughter named after her, but I haven’t found any evidence, so for now we’ll go with the late marriage.

Note: The original record looks to say “widow”. I only found 2 hotchkiss men of an age to have been her husband with reference to Shawbury. John also died here, while robert was born here and I have no other records of him. Thus John seems the likely man. Also, I have no other record of John’s wife, though lots of likely children to show she existed, but no children who could have been Robert’s.

!Note: apparently the Brits pronounce the au in the name Maude as a long O, so more like mode.
