John was born about 1708 in Ireland, the son of Robert McFarland and Jennett.
He died in 1784 in Agusta, Bedford County, Virginia.
His wife was Mary Montgomery, who he married in ABT 1728. The place has not been found. Their only known child was John (c1738-c1809).
