He died in 1855 in New Monkland Burgh of Airdrie, Lanarkshire, Scotland.
His wife was Jean Watchman, who he married in 1809 in St. Ninians, Stirlingshire, Scotland. Their two known children were Joseph (c1812-1875) and Margaret (c1818-?).
