He had three marriages/partners. His first wife was Anna Knowles, who he married on ABT 28 FEB 1710 in Woodbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut. Their five known children were Hinman (1711-1711), Elizabeth (1713-?), Gideon (c1715-c1720), Adam (1716-?) and Thankful (c1717-c1719).
His second wife was Sarah Scoville, who he married in 1721 in Woodbury, Litchfield County, Connecticut. Their eight known children were Gideon (1725-1809), Noah (c1727-<1740), Edward (1730-c1804), Abijah (1733-1807), Reuben (c1735-1792), Simeon (c1737-1767), Noah (1740-1830) and Sarah (c1742-?).
His third wife was Lydia Crofut, who he married in 1741. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Jerusha (1744-?), Anna (c1746-1804), Asahal (c1749-?) and Damaris (1752-?).
