Melvin M. Schmersey, Jr., age 52, entered into rest December 3, 2001 in Palo Alto, California. Survived by his wife Beverly Schmersey, his sons Shawn Schmersey and Lee Schmersey, his granddaughter Alyssa Lynn Schmersey, his mother Helen J. Schmersey, two sisters Priscilla Ingle and Karel Schmersey, brother William F. Schmersey, and brothers-in-law,, neices and nephews. He was involved in the Alcoholics Anonymous program and attended regular meeting for 12 years.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 11 at Roller, Hapgood and Tinney Funeral Chapel, 980 Middlefield Road, Palo Alto. Private burial will be held in Gustine on Wednesday, December 12.
