Jane was born in 1781 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, the daughter of unknown parents.
Her husband was Gould Phinney, who she married on 9 SEP 1808. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Thomas Pettibone (1810-1889), Rachel Badgley (1812-?), Elisha (1814-1897), Mary W. (c1816-?), Harriet W. (c1816-?) and Elizabeth (1818-1829).
