His wife was Sarah Hinsdale, who he married on 20 APR 1827 in Burlington, Vermont. Their seven known children were Solon Hinsdale (1827-1865), Orson Ovietta (1833-1867), Sarah Jane (1837-?), Jannie S. (c1839-1863), Norman Johnson (1844-1869), Mary Souse (1845-1847) and Myron Hynsdale (1846-?).
