He had two marriages/partners. His first wife was Mary Harris. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. Their three known children were Anna Maria (1850-?), Sarah Ella (c1852-1931) and George (c1854-?).
His second wife was Lavinia Bent. They were married, but the date and place have not been found. They had no known children.
