He died on 12 JUL 1813 in Cooperstown, New York.

His wife was Mary Noyes, who he married on 15 MAR 1781 in Canaan, New York. Their six known children were Henry (1781-1850), Katherine (1783-1858), Elihu (1785-1863), George Gordon (1787-1828), Sophia (1789-?) and Polly (1792-1793).
