Note 1
!Source: Spiesen Parish Records and K. Graber's book.
!Notes: K. Graber comes to the conclusion that the brother who went to Australia was Joseph. However, Spiesen Parish Records show that Joseph died as an infant. Therefore, by elimination, as she says, it must have been the second Johannes. John came first to the U.S. in 1847, where he lived, for a while, with his brother Conrad's family. No further U.S. records have been found. It is known that one of the brothers moved to Australia and had at least 2 sons, who later visited America. Pictures indicate that he had at least 4 sons.
