His wife was Isabella Torbert, who he married on 21 NOV 1877 in FIRM ROCK CHURCH, BLOOMINGTON, GARRETT CO. MARYLAND. Their nine known children were Walter (1878-1963), Robert (1885-1942), Margaret (1881-1955), Isabella (1888-1926), Jane (1890-1974), Jessie (1892-1968), Alexander (1896-1949), Elizabeth (1899-1955) and Anita (1901-1981).
