Sarah was born about 1648 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut, the daughter of Samuel Hotchkiss and Elizabeth Cleverly.

She died about 1711. The place is not known.

Her husband was Jeremiah Johnson, who she married in ABT 1663 in New Haven, New Haven County, Connecticut. Their nine known children were Jeremiah (1664-1726), William (1665-?), UNKNOWN (1666-c1666), John (1667-1739), Samuel (1671-1726), Moses (1674-1754), Abigail (1677-?), Ebenezar (1679-?) and Elizabeth (1684-?).
