He died on 27 NOV 1874 in Jung Parish, Skaraborg, Vastergotland, Sweden.

His wife was Maja Lena Jonasdotter, who he married in 1840 in Jung Parish, Skaraborg, Vastergotland, Sweden. Their nine known children were Anna Lena (1841-1841), Anna Lena (1842-1843), Johan Anders (1844-1918), Anna Lena (1847-1917), Johannes (1849-1916), Kajsa (1852-1917), Johannah (1854-1951), Emma Kristina (1857-1951) and Matilda (1861-1950).

!Notes: Lars came from Skarstad Parish to the soldier's cottage, Korsgardens soldattorp, in Jung Parish in 1838. He got his name Stokat from his predecessors at the soldiers holding. First there was a Jonas Stokat, a soldier at Jung Korsgarden soldiers holding. Then there was a Petter Stokat and from 1838 Lars Stokat. They were not related. This was a common custom at the soldier holdings, to inherit the name. The Jung Korsgarden soldiersholding was located near the church of Jung, but on the opposit side of E3 Highway. Maja Lena came to the soldier's cottage in 1840 and married Lars Stokat. Their nine children were born from 1841 to 1861 at this soldier's cottage. In 1867 a new soldier moved in at the soldier's cottage, but Lars and his family stayed as well. The childen moved out, one after another. Lars died 27 Nov 1874 at the soldier's cottage. Maja Lena and the daughter Kajsa moved to a cottage nearby in 1876. Maja Lena Jonsdotter died on 3 Feb 1897. His military record from the Soldatregistret in Skara shows: Skaraborg regiment, Skanings company, Number 675 Korsgarden, Jung Parish.
