!On the 9th of July, Phyllis Norman Grissom received the following letter: July 4, 2001 Mrs. Cecil Grissom Box 147 Stringer, Mississippi 39481 Dear Mrs Grissom, Dolores Snyder gave me your name and address. Dolores is a first cousin of my mother’s on the Kemmerling side. She said she thought you had done a family tree search n your side of the family. I know the Norman family is relted to the Kemmerling family. I am trying to piece together what I can. My mother is Lenore Laverty and her maiden name is Roether. Her parents were Albert and Josephine [Kemmerling] roether. Mom had two brothers and one sister - Will, Ray and Evelyn. Evelyn married Bill Darrel, Will remained single and Ray married Jane Mick. My mother married Vernon Laverty - who died 9 - 8 - 95 at the age of 95. My mother is still living and is 92 years old. She is in the Mineral Point care Center since breaking her hip last Nov. She is doing pretty good for 92, but her mnd isn’t as sharp as it once was. She can’t remember how people are related so can’t really ask her family questions anymore. Sevral years ago mom and dad gathered som information from the courthouse and that is all I have to go on. Any information you can relay to me would be helpful. I have asked dolores to help me with her family. While growing up I remember Johny and Jim Norman. No one seems to know where Johnny is anymore. Jim has since passed away. I will have to look up his information in the cemetery in Mineral Point. He had trouble with his legs and had at least one of them taken off due to diabetes I believe. I have two brothers and one sister. We are in order - Larry in Denver, June [me], David inPhoenix and Pat in Madison. My husband and I have three children and 4 grandchildren.
