He came from Crewkerne, Somerset, to Massachusetts Bay in 1632 & settled first at Dorchester & then at Windsor in 1636.
He was baptized at Beaminster, Dorsetshire, 4 Jul 1585, son of "Richarde Pomerye." at Beaminster, 4 May 1617, Johana Keech, who was battized at Beaminster, 15 May 1586, daughter of "John Kiche," & was buried there 27 Nov.1620. They had 2 children.
He married at Crewkerne, Somersetshire, 7 May 1629 Margery Rockett. They had 8 known children. She died at Windsor 5 Jul 1655.
He married at Windsor, 30 Nov 1664, Lydia Parsons, widow of Thomas Parsons. On 16 Jun 1668 John Winthrop Jr. treated "Pummery, Lidia, above 50 years, wife of Elt. Pommery of Winsor," & on 23 Mar 1668/9 he treated "Pomery, Lidia, 52 years, wife of old Eldad {sic} Pomery of Winsor." She died after 7 Nov 1671.
He died at Northampton Mar 1673.

Through Eltweed Pomeroy's father Richard Pmerpry and his wife Eleanor Coker the Pomeroy's have been proven to be a direct descendants of William the Conqueror , Elteweed's 14 great grandfather, though his 4th son Henry I, aka Beauclerc, Beauchamp King of England and one of his several concubines named Sybil or Sybilla, Lady of Ancestor and their daughter Rohesa or Rohese de Dunstanville 1114-1177 whose husband was Henry I a Knight, Pomeroy or as spelled back then Pomerai who came from the Barons of Pomerai at Berry Pomeroi in England. Henry Pomerai was born 1125-1166.
