Helen was born on 20 JAN 1863 in Manner Street, Macduff, Scotland, the daughter of unknown parents.
Her husband was William Paterson, who she married on 24 FEB 1882. The place has not been found. Their four known children were Charles McWilliams (1892-1916), Thomas Philip (1899-1977), Maggie Lindsay (1907-1952) and Annie (c1908-?).
