His wife was Jean Loudon, who he married in 1672. The place has not been found. Their eight known children were Robert (1673-?), Elizabeth (1674-?), Jean (1677-?), Andrew (1677-?), John (1678-?), Moses (1679-?), Margaret (1680-?) and Bessie (1683-?).
