Biography

Sir William Trussell of Cublesdon, knight

William Trussell was a younger son of William Trussell, and Maud de Mainwaring.[1][2]

His year of birth is unknown and is estimated as c 1308.

Marriages and Children

He married before 1324, Isabel, surname unknown.[2]

Children:

John Trussell [2][3]

William married second, before 1342, Ida, daughter of William le Boteler of Wem, Shropshire.[2][4][5]

Children:

Margaret Trussell [1][6][7][8][9][10][11]

In the Inquisition Post Mortem of Ida's brother, Edward Botiller, Clerk, in 1376, the return for Warwickshire noted that he had four sisters, "all now deceased", one of which was Ida. It stated that "William Trussell of Odyham married Ida, and had issue by her Margaret his daughter, aged 22 years and more".[7][12]

He was also noted in a Pedigree from the Plea Rolls.[13] In this case Margaret, the daughter of Ida was noted as the late wife of William Trussel of Odyam. Presumably this was an error.
