Margaret Standish was born on June 3, 1619 in Lancaster, Lancashire, England. Margaret Standish, daughter of Alexander Standish of Standish in Lancashire and Elizabeth Hawarden.[1]
Margaret married Robert Hesketh in Rufford, Lancashire, United Kingdom; the son of Robert Hesketh MP and Mary Hesketh). Margaret Standish was the daughter of Alexander Standish of Standish in Lancashire.[2]and Elizabeth Hawarden of Lancashire [3]
Robert became head of the Hesketh family on the death of his elder brother, Thomas, in 1646 who died without issue. The Heskeths of Rufford, Martholme and Great Harwood, Holmes, Holmeswood, Howicke and Bettonwere were an ancient Lancashire family. Martholme Hall is located in Great Harwood, Blackburn, Lancashire , and is an ancient stone house that was once the manor house of Great Harwood. The house boasts an Elizabethan gatehouse, a walled outer courtyard, and a dry moat.
