This is the last Will and Testament
of me Mary Adams of Blackauton Vicarage in the County of
Devon Wife of The Revd Stephen Lewis Adams first I will and
desire that I may be buried as private and plain as possible I
give and bequeath unto my friend Dorothy Hawkins all my wearing
apparel whatever and a new suit of mouring throughout I ^ { likewise } give unto
John Henry Seale, Esquire of Mount Barn my Nephew and ^ {unto} John
Hawkins of the South Devon Militia their Executors Admors and
Assigns the Sum of four thousand pounds which is now in the three
per. cernts Consols ^ {invested} in the names of John Seale Esquire and Charles Hayne
Esquire to hold the same In Trust for my husband Stephen Lewis Adams
to receive the Interest of the said four thousand pound ^ { during his natural life & after his death I give and bequeath the Interest of the said found thousand pound } To my brother
Charles Hayne Esquire during his natural life and after his death
I give and bequeath the said Sum of four thousand pound to be equally
divided between my three Nephews John Henry Seale Robert Hayne
Seale and Charles Henry Seale Esquires I give and bequeath to my
Newphew John Henry Seale all my Jewels a pair of Earrings a hoop
Ring and a ring set round with Diamonds it is my Will and desire
that my Executor will pay to my friend Dorothy Hawkins the sum
of thirty pounds a year during her natural life and in case the said
Dorothy Hawkins should outlive my husband then whoever is in possession
of the property is to pay to the said Dorothy Hawkins the ^ { above } sum thirty =
pounds I do hereby nominate and appoint my said husband Stephen Lewis
Adams whole and sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
hereby revoking all former Wills and Testaments theretofore made by
me as witness my hand and seal the eighth day of January 1816.
