Born in 1757 in Wallingford. While temporarily residing in Branford, CT, he enlisted in Mar 1776 and served three weeks or more as private in Captain Russell's company in Colonel Ward's Connecticut regiment. Enlisted in June 1776 and served five months as private in Captain Thatcher's company in Colonel Swift's Connecticut regiment. Enlisted in April 1777 and served three weeks as private in Captain Benjamin Baldwin's company in Colonel Ward'sConnecticut regiment. Enlisted in August 1782 and served six weeks as corporal in Captain Hough's Connecticut company.
Allowed pension on his application executed September 15, 1832, while a resident of Barkhamsted to which place he moved in1791.
Papers indicate that he had a brother, Wait, who served with him.
Certificate 22974, issued December 23, 1833, rate $23.33 per annum commenced March 4, 1831, Act of June 7, 1832, Connecticut Agency.
