His wife was Eliza Ann Rettew, who he married on 28 OCT 1830. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Anna Mary (1831-1904), Robert Hunter (1833-1912), Edwin Bridges (1835-1911), Henrietta Kerns (1838-1918), Harriet Register (1840-?) and Emma Luisa (1845-1906).
