Jerusha was born in 1811 in New Plymouth, Ohio, the daughter of unknown parents.
Her husband was Sylvanus Finney, who she married in 1832. The place has not been found. Their six known children were Irene Amanda (1834-1841), Asenath (1835-?), Jerusha (1838-1841), Sylvanus Bingham (1843-1863), John Henry (1844-1849) and Rufus Churchill (1849-?).
