======
Emanuel Hotchkiss (Manuell Huskie) (abt 1811 - 1892) is my 9C8R.
His grandfather James Huskie (Hotchkiss) (abt 1715 - abt 1786) is my 7C10R
I’m not sure what this stone commemorates.
Huskie is a form of Hotchkiss and
Emanuel (Manuell) is a grandson of James Hotchkiss of Hawkeswood,
who sold Hawkeswood and moved to Edinburgh to marry Elizabeth Cleghorn and become a wealthy brewer.
That he and others of this illustrious line
made their way to join our family in the Falkirk area
is extremely interesting and caused me to spend
a lot of time looking for a more direct relationship.
