!Sources: James A Hotchkiss, 1790 US Census. Lists birthplace as Virginia.
!Notes: The Woolery or Woolary family immigrated from the Netherlands. As they were long thought to be French, purhaps they were from the area which was once Flanders. In Europe their name was Ulary or Ulhrich. It appears that the Woolery's liv
ed in the Ohio Valley area when the French ruled it prior to 1776. The 1790 US Census shows the family situated as follows: Christopher Woolery's family in Maryland, Jacob Woolery's family in Pennsylvania, Henry Woolery's family in Kentucky, etc
. The 1850 US Census shows the Woolery family spread in a line from New Jersey and Maryland in the east to Missouri in the west.
