!(Rockford Register Star Oct. 14, 1927) - John W. Kennedy, 67 years old, 402 North Central Avenue, a lifelong resident of Rockford and vicinity, died Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at his home after an illness of three weeks of diabetes. - H e was born in Rockford July 12, 1860, (5804 Prairie Road - Rockford Illinois), son of James and Hannah Kennedy. - He spent his active years in the pursuit of agriculture, in Rockford retiring 11 years ago. Although he lived in Rockford he retaine d many friendships in Byron, during his residency there he had lived on the Burke and McGregor farms. - John W. Kennedy was a man of upright character and sterling worth who was faithful to every obligation of his home, business and civic life an d entirely merited the high regard in which he widely was held. - He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church and the Holy Name society of that parish. He as also affiliated with Rockford Camp No. 51 of the Modern Woodmen of America. - He mar ried Mary McGrahn February 2, 1886, she passed away in 1888 he then married Miss Katherine J.
