Double pneumonia and shock, following in the wake of the automobile accident a week ago last Saturday when the Ford sedan occupied by James Curley and Tyson Cole, both of Burlingame, turned over three times after striking a loose sand bank on th e highway just east of town, resulted in the death of both men, Curley dying at the St. Francis hospital in Topeka about noon Saturday and Cole at his home here in Burlingame Sunday morning. Atthe time of the wreck, it was thought that Curley wa s the more seriously injured and he was taken from the scene to the Topeka hospital, though X-ray examinations there are said to have failed to reveal any internal injuries or broken bones. Cole was brought to his home here. Until their death bo th men had been in a paralytic condition in the lower part of their bodies, and with the development of double pneumonia, death was a matter of but a few days. ---

Tyson Cole was born at Fulton, Ohio, October 4, 1874, lacking only a few days of being 57 years of age at the time of his death, and came with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cole, to Kansas in 1879, first settling at Peterton, and coming to Burl ingame in 1882. For a number of years he was connected with the Santa Fe Railroad here as a telegraph operator, and became known as an expert with the key. More recently, however, he had been engaged in mining work, and was so employed at the ti me of his death, though not working that particular day on account of there having been no coal cars set out for loading at the mine.

On June 9, 1897 he was married to Miss Lulu Witney of Burlingame, who, with the six children, survives. The latter are: Bryan, Harry and Dorothy, at home; Mrs. Lucille Raub, Topeka; Mrs. Bertha Kenney, Sherman Oklahoma; and Walter of Salem, Ill . He is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: Harry and Alfred Cole of Brlingame, Charles of Paris, Ark., Mrs. Lulu Sturman of O'Fallon, Ill. and Mrs. Lizzie Shields of Scranton. There are also two half-brothers, Jonathan Sandwit h of Canton, Ohio and Joshua Sandwith of Girard, Kansas, and two half-sisters, Mrs. Dickson Burnett of Burlingame and Mrs. Fannie Thurman of Melvern.

The funeral services were held at the Methodist church; Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C.P. Broadfoot. Interment was in the Burlingame Cemetery under the direction of C. L Carey. ---
