Passed Away September 28 At Age of 66 Years; Funeral Services Held Here Saturday --

Ellen Marie Anderson, daughter of Hermann and Emma Anderson was born in Osage City, Kansas, October 14, 1882 and passed away September 28, 1949 at the age of 66 years, 11 months and 14 days.

Mrs. Johnson had been in poor health the past few years, but bore her suffering with much patience and without complaining. "Ma" Johnson, as she was called by her husband, was a woman whom we all liked and enjoyed meeting, she truly numbered he r friends by her aquaintances.

She was united in marriage to John Ludwick Johnson, March 4, 1903. To this union nine children were born; three have preceded their mother in death.

She is survived by her husband Lute Johnson of the home; five sons, Harold, Elmer, Charles, Bennie and Floyd. And one daughter, Hazel Bolyard; all of Osage City, Kansas. She is survived by six grandchildren; Wayne, Lyle, Gary Lee, Marilyn and Lo is Kay Johnson and Joan Ellen Bolyard. There is one great-granddaughter, Pamala Ann Johnson. Two brothers, Oscar and Carl Anderson and several nephews and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was a kind, loving and considerate wife and mother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

A large and beautiful floral offering surrounded the casket and alter at the funeral services held at the Methodist church Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock. They silently expressed the high regard she was held in by relatives and friends. The Rev . A. L. Hardy conducted the services, with Mrs. Clyde Bond and Mrs. Mary Allan singing two numbers "I Need Thee Every Hour" and "More Love for Thee, O Lord" with Mrs. R. P. Latimer at the organ. Burial was made in the Union cemetery.

The pall bearers were Albert Hendrickson, Ed Reid, Bill Bailey, Everett Jackson, Theodore Wilkie and Earnest Johnson.

Among those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Groves, Mr. Phil Chelf, Mrs. Grace Hill, Mrs. Harold Workman and Mrs. Alma Atkinson all of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Smith and Mrs. Paul DeLain of Richland. --
