Obituary: (Burlingame newspaper, Dec 1952) -- Funeral Rites Held Tuesday for Mrs. N. S. Hotchkiss --
!P: Funeral services for Mrs. Mildred Hotchkiss were held at the Burlingame Federated Church Tuesday afternoon with Rev. S. N. McCain, and E. L. Heilmann officiating. Burial was in the Wilmington Cemetery.
!P: Born here on January 15, 1912, the deceased was the youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Tubbs. In ill health for the last three years, death came last Saturday at the home of her sister, Mrs. Earl Apps, in Topeka where she had sp ent the last two months.
!P: She attended the Burlingame schools from which she graduated in 1929. For 12 years thereafter, she was employed in the Burlingame telephone exchange after which she attended and graduated from a business school in Topeka. For a time she worke d at Beech Aircraft company in Wichita, returning to Burlingame in 1945.
!P: In February, 1946, she was united in marriage to Neal S. Hotchkiss and until two years ago, lived in Burlingame. At that time they sold their home here and moved to Wichita.
!P: Of an unselfish nature, her thoughts were more for the welfare of others. She always could see the bright side of everything and was happy when doing favors for someone. She attended the Presbyterian Church.
!P: Besides her parents, Mrs. Hotchkiss was preceded in death by one brother, Charles Henry and three sisters, Ula Fay, Jennie Marie and Nora Elizabeth.
!P: Survivors include her husband, three step-children, Mrs. Twila Grissinger and James Allen Hotchkiss of Wichita and Darrell Hotchkiss of Burlingame; one sister, Mrs. Earl Apps of Topeka, three nephews, alonzo and Richard Apps of Topeka; Pfc. Ro bert Apps of the Marine Corps, one niece, Marilyn Kay Apps of Topeka, other relatives and a host of friends.
