!P: "Old Parochial Registers of Edinburgh Parish Marriages 1787-1800" and the "Register of Marriages of the City of Edinburgh 1751-1800" at the Scottish Record Society, both show an almost identical marriage entry for 24 Mar 1794: "Thomas Hotchki ss brewer, New Gray Friars Parish and Miss Anna Richardson residing in Dumfries, daughter of the deceased, Mr. William Richardson, late of Knockshinnoch".

Referenced his brother John Hotchkis resident in or near Llanwysh Villa in the County of Brecknoch in Wales. Referenced his brother George Hotchkis also a resident i n or near Llanwish Villa in the County of Brecknoch in Wales. Estate valued between 5000 and 6000 pounds sterling. Referenced his brother Richard Hotchkis Writer to the Signet. Above 3 brothers and others as trustees. Referenced the deceased Mrs A nna Richardon my spouse, from whom he inherited by deed of settlement dated 2 Jul 1795, and recorded in the Book of Session Office 26 Oct 1797. Referenced Peter Lamond, his partner in brewing, who think was to continue the business. 100 pounds t o grandson Thomas Hotchkis Copland beyond his share of the residue of the estate. Household goods go to daughter Elizabeth, married to Mr. William Copland writer in Glascow. Proceeds of the remainder of working estate to first support his only law ful son James Hotchkis for life, who from birth was affected by a mental instability, limited to 70 pounds sterling yearly, and the remainder of its income to go to Elizabeth and her children, although the trustees should use some to increase th e estate. After Elizabeth's death and her children are 21 and married the remainder to be split between her children. (Couldn't view whole thing as Java applit appeared to run out of memory)
