!Isabelle Verna, a resident of Topeka for the past 20 years, passed away in a Topeka hospital May 29, 1945. She was born in Burlingame, Kans., January 5, 1907. She attended school and grew to young womanhood in Burlingame.
!On October 24, 1925 she was united in marriage to Alex Verna. To this union were born two children, William Kenneth and Shirley Ann.
!She leaves to mourn her sad departure her husband and children, her mother, Mrs. Annie Curley, four sisters, Mrs. Esther Hewitt, Onaga, Kans., Mrs. Albert Fenney, of Glendale, Calif., Mrs. Marguerite Parre and Mrs. Anna Rosetta, of Osage City, an d three brothers, James Curley, of Osage City, Jack Curley, of the Armed Forces, Colin Curley, of the Hawaiian Islands and a host of relatives and friends.
!She was a member of the Rebekah Lodge of Topeka, who had part in the services at Topeka, which was held at Penwell Chapel, May 31 at 1:30 p.m.
!Funeral services were held from McElfresh Mortuary in Osage City Friday afternoon, June 1, at 2:30 o'clock, the Rev. J. H. Faurot, pastor of the Presbyterian church conducting the services. MRs. Virginia Schnider sang, accompanied by Mrs. E. D . Perkins at the piano. Burial was made in the Osage City cemetery.
!The pall bearers were Emile Musatto, Charles Ashcraft, Frank Parre, Jim Parre, Roy Stephenson and Tom Stephenson.
!Besides the family relatives here to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Williams, of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Diana Sprung, of Kansas City, Kans.,; Mr. and Mrs. Ed Rouviere, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Rouviere and family, of Topeka; Mr. and Mrs. C . J. Hewitt, of Onaga, Kans.; Mrs. W. E. Fenney, of Glendale, Calif.; Mrs. Bill Hauber, of Slater, Mo.; Mrs. Richard Hewitt, of Ottawa; Mrs. Frank Giachino, Mr. and Mrs. David Wilson and Mrs. Esther Hoggins, of Burlingame; Mr. and Mrs. Ray Mills , Mrs. Rebecca Randall, Mrs. William Gummo, Nrs. Paul Moran and Mrs. Tom Zart and son, all of Topeka. --

!Funeral services for Mrs. Alexander Verna, 38, were held at the McElfresh Funeral Home in Osage City on Friday afternoon, June 1, at 2:30 o'clock, with burial in the Osage City cemetery. Another service had previously been held Thursday afternoo n at the Penwell Funeral Home, Topeka.
!The deceased was the former Isabelle Curley, daughter of Mrs. Annie Curley and the late James Curley. She was born at Burlingame January 5, 1907 but lived in Topeka since 1925. Her Topeka home was at 616 Scotland, and her death occured in a Top eka hospital on Tuesday, May 29.
!Surviving are her husband, Alexander Verna of the home; a daughter, Shirley Ann Verna of the home, a son, William Kenneth Verna of the home; her mother, Mrs. Annie Curley, Osage City, four sisters, Mrs. Ann Rosetta and Mrs. Margaret Parr Osage Ci ty; Mrs. Esther Hewitt, Onaga; and Mrs. Albert Fenney, Glendale, Calif.; and three brothers, James Curley, Osage City, Sgt. John W. Curley of the South Pacific and Colin Curley, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. --
