He remarried Eliza Alice Burns. Eliza had been married before to Short William Burns 26/12/1927. They has one child, Jean. Short William died in 1929.

George and Eliza married on the 25/5/1931. In between George’s marriages Thomas had died. I can’t as yet find a date when he did die.

George’s birth certificate was changed from Hodgkiss to Hotchkiss 11/1/1949. It appears he had a provident savings account and wished to draw money out to go on holiday and to prove who he was he had to produce his birth certificate. This showe d a different surname to the one listed on the account. His brother, John Edward, and sister, Eliza, had to witness the change to the certificate.
