!Notes: Settled in the north-western part of Avon, Connecticut, known as Whortleberry Hill. In 1789 moved to what became Collinsvile, Connecticut. He became the owner of about 4/5 of the land on both sides of the river, where the village now stan
ds. In 1792 he and his brother Colonel George Humphrey built an iron forge. It was damaged by the floods of 1801 and finally washed away by the floods of 1804. He served as Captain in the war with England, and was a representative to the Genera
l Assembly from Canton in 1812, October session, with James Humphrey, Esq. He was described as a large, strong man with a good heart.
